Taco Turkey Wrap

1 tbsp sour cream                                




1 tsp taco seasoning




1 whole wheat tortilla




2 slices of Turkey


1 slice of mexican, colby or American cheese
3 tbsp Salsa


Mix the sour cream and seasoning together in a bowl. Spread it onto your tortilla. Lay turkey and cheese on the tortilla. Roll up and slice into bite sized pieces. Dip in salsa and enjoy.

Lab Report:
The purpose of this lab was to try a healthy meal for breast feeding parents. I learned how to roll a wrap right.. My group functioned very well . My sensory perception was that everything was okay. the smell,taste,the way it looked and the way it felt was really almost right, bhut was reallyy good. To make this recipe healthier, I woul have had a lowfat dipping sauce. To make this recipe taste better, i wouldnt do anything to it, it was very well made. Overall, I would give this lab a grade of 80. My role in the lab was to make sure the kitchen was clean and, all the dishes were washed. I used my washing skills skills.

Vegetable Soup

Vegetable Soup

Ingredients                                  

Chopped onion
Chopped Celery
2 potatoes peeled and diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon olive oil                   
3 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup uncooked pasta
1 can, washed kidney beans
1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon salt
Shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions

In a saucepan, sauté onion, celery and garlic in butter and oil. Add broth; bring to a boil. Add pasta; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Add the beans, tomatoes, and salt. Cook 5 minutes longer or until heated through. Serve with a sprinkle of cheese

Lab Report:

The purpose of this lab was to complete  a helthy soup meal. I learned to try new healthy soups. My group functioned very good . My sensory perception was that everything was on point. the smell,taste,the way it looked and the way it felt was really good. To make this recipe healthier, I wouldn't take or add anything. To make this recipe taste better, I would of used less chicken broth. Overall, I would give this lab a grade of 100. My role in the lab was to make sure the kitchen was clean and, all the dishes were washed. I used my cleaning skills.

Antioxidant Smoothie

Antioxidant Smoothie

1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup acai berry juice (such as Bom Dia Acai Berry with Cacao)
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt (such as Stonyfield)
1 Tbsp. unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Mix until smooth.          
Serves 2.

The purpose of this lab was to make a healthy smoothie. I learned that not all healthy drinks are good. My group functioned well. My sensory perception was it smelled and looked very goog. It felt wet and slimy. The taste wasn't so good. To make this recipe healthier, I would add more fruit. To make this recipe taste better, I would take out the coco power. Overall, I would give this lab a grade of 100, because we all CHUGGED the drink. My role in the lab was to blend the smoothie and help out the chef and I used my listening skills.

Chicken Quesadillas

Chicken Quesadillas
Ingredients:
1 skinless, boneless chicken breast, diced                  
1 tsp seasoning
3 tsp vegetable oil, separated
2 Tbsp peppers, diced
2 Tbsp onion, diced
4 flour tortillas
1 c shredded cheese (½ bag)
Directions:
Dice the raw chicken. Grease a skillet with the 1 tsp oil. Toss the chicken with the seasoning and then spread it into the skillet. Cook until the chicken pieces are no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes.While chicken is cooking dice onion and jalapenos on a separate cutting board. Stir peppers and onion into cooked chicken. Cook and stir until the vegetables have softened, about 10 minutes. Layer half of each tortilla with the chicken and vegetable mixture then sprinkle with the cheese. Fold the tortillas in half and place one by one into a greased skillet, cook until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Lab Report:

The purpose of this lab was to successefully make a healthy chicken quesadillas fro a prgnant woman. I learned  how to bron taco shells. My group functioned great, everyone did there job with no complants. My sensory perception was that everything tasted,smelledd, looked, and felt great. To make this recipe healthier, I wouldn't change anything, it was very good. Overall, I would give this lab a grade of  100. My role in the lab was to help the chef and I used my "go getting "skills.

Olive Pesto Pasta

Olive Pesto Pasta
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
½ cup Walnut Pieces
1 Clove Garlic, crushed
2 cups torn baby spinach leaves                                 
1 tsp dried Basil
Whole Wheat Spaghetti, cooked
2 Tbsp Shredded part-skim mozzarella
Salt and Pepper to taste
Heat the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add the nuts and toast them for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the garlic, spinach, basil, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes more, turning frequently. Toss with
the cooked pasta and top with cheese

 Lab Report:

The purpose of this lab was to learn how to make a helathy pasta meal. I learned that teamwork is very important and not to rush food. My group functioned very well, even though we added a person and was missing one person to the group. My sensory perception was it tasted very good, smelled really good. it looked and felt a little dry. To make this recipe healthier, I would not do anything to it. To make this recipe taste better, I would have not put the almounds in the recipe. Overall, I would give this lab a grade of 90. My role in the lab was to cook everything. and I used my cooking skills.
